Parent workshops

Woodlands prides itself on its relationship with the community. Involving our parents and carers in their children's learning is a wonderful opportunity to take on new skills, meet the staff, other parents and spend one to one time with their children.

Some of the workshops we have offered in the past include Engish classes, animation, storytelling/bookmaking, ESOL sewing classes, e-safety, cookery, computer skills and many more.

This term we had a meeting of two cultures - our Bengali mums conducted a tour around the mosque, brought in some delicious (and spicy!) food and applied Mehndi designs to our White British mums. The favour was returned when the Bengali mums were invited to a typical English afternoon tea, shown wedding and christening photographs, given manicures and taught how to braid hair.

Next half term we are planning some cookery workshops, first aid training and by popular request will be holding another Family Build-It session.

To learn about new workshops coming up, check back here where we can update you with details.
