We love celebrating music at Woodlands! Throughout school life, we follow an exciting curriculum which allows us to experiment with sounds, compose, experience music from different cultures, study the history of music and learn how to play the ukulele and recorder. Quality music lessons are delivered by the Wirral Music Service to ensure we all enjoy, take part and learn.

In both key stages, we take part in weekly singing assemblies where we are introduced to an eclectic mix of songs including hymns, carols, songs for varying festivals, musicals and more. Additionally we look at music from around the world which allows us to improve our geographical knowledge and understanding as well as our musical knowledge.

Music tuition has recently become available for interested parties and children are learning the guitar. Others are soon to be learning the violin. Children have shown enthusiasm, dedication and commitment - skills which prove invaluable in later life.

Concerts and performances are also common place at our school, including Christmas time when we enjoy a carol concert with live performers. We feel it is important for children to gain these experiences in order to inspire and instil a passion for music.
