E-Safety

The internet and the technology available to us is an incredible thing. It can be a valuable tool in our childrens learning, communicating and playing. However as parents and educators it brings us new challenges in keeping our children safe online. Educating them at a young age and encouraging conversation is so important in protecting them from potential harm from inappropriate use.

E-safety is a core part of our computing curriculum, we discuss potential issues, what information is acceptable to share and how to report anything that makes us feel uncomfortable. We also offer e-safety workshops to our parents throughout the school year.

Whilst we do our best to equipt our children with the tools to stay safe, sometimes things do go wrong and the effects of this can be devestating. If you have any concerns or if you are a child that would like to speak to somebody in confidence then please follow this link and report it to CEOP (Child Exploitation and and Online Protection).

As parents and carers please do talk to your children about what they are accessing, who they are communicating with and how to keep themselves safe online. We have compiled a list of useful parent guides below to help you set parental controls, understand screen addiction and how to start conversations about e-safety with young children.
